Background
Ice is its own discipline. I picked it up after a few years on general refrigeration when I noticed how much money operators lose to bad water and ignored preventative maintenance — a $30 inlet filter saves a $1,400 condenser replacement six months later. I lean into that conversation on every site visit.
What I work on
Hoshizaki KM-series, Manitowoc Indigo NXT, Scotsman Prodigy and Eclipse. Harvest cycle diagnostics, float and bin control boards, water inlet valves, condenser cleaning, and full preventative-maintenance schedules for bar and restaurant operators.
Why I work at Berne
Berne sends me to the same sites month after month, so I actually know each machine's history — which condenser was cleaned when, which board has been flaky.
