Commercial Ice Machine Repair in South Florida

Same-day repair for modular, undercounter, flaker and nugget ice machines in restaurants, bars, hotels and healthcare facilities across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach — Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman and every brand behind them. Ice is a food product, so a service ticket checks the water path and the bin along with whatever mechanical fault brought the truck out.

A dead ice machine is a service call, not a repair estimate

No ice on a Friday night bar shift, a hotel breakfast line running out mid-service, or a health-code finding on a slimy bin — these are the calls that put ice machine repair in our same-day queue across South Florida. We service every configuration: modular heads bolted to a storage bin, self-contained undercounter and countertop units, flaker machines for seafood and produce display, nugget ice for healthcare and beverage programs, and rooftop remote-condenser systems.

An ice machine is precision commercial refrigeration with a water system and a food-safety spec bolted on top. South Florida's mineral-heavy water scales float switches, probes and evaporator plates faster than most markets, and salt air shortens the life of condensers and fan motors on coastal and rooftop installs. Our EPA 608-certified techs read the water path, the sensing system and the sealed system as one circuit — which is why most of our ice machine tickets close in one visit.

We are an independent commercial service company — not a dealership and not an authorized agent of Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman or any ice machine manufacturer. In-warranty units should use the factory network first; it's free for you. Out of warranty, independence works in your favor: same-day dispatch, no warranty queue, and common parts across all three major brands riding on the truck.

No ice usually isn't the compressor

A machine that runs but won't freeze or won't harvest is, in our tickets, more often a scaled water-inlet valve, a drifted ice-thickness probe, or a fouled condenser than a dead sealed system. We check the water path and the airflow before anyone talks about refrigerant.

South Florida water writes the repair ticket

Mineral-heavy water scales float switches, water-level probes and evaporator plates faster here than almost anywhere else we service. Thin, cloudy or hollow cubes and a machine that stops mid-bin both trace back to scale more often than a broken part.

Ice is food, and DBPR inspects it that way

Pink slime in the bin, biofilm on the evaporator and mold at the door seal are DBPR citation triggers, not cosmetic issues. Every ice machine ticket includes a check of the bin and water path alongside whatever fault brought the truck out.

Every ice machine configuration, one truck

The failure modes below vary by machine type — knowing which one you run helps a tech arrive with the right part.

Modular heads on a storage bin

The back-of-house standard — a cuber head bolted to a B-series or equivalent bin, 300 lb to 2,100+ lb per day. Most of our dispatches are this configuration.

Undercounter & countertop units

Self-contained cubers in bar wells and coffee counters. Airflow in a tight alcove is the #1 problem — the condenser needs clearance the cabinet often doesn't give it.

Flaker machines

Chip and flake ice for seafood display, produce cases and blended-drink stations. Auger bearings and gearmotors carry the load; a squeal or grind means stop the machine before the auger seizes.

Nugget (chewable) ice machines

Healthcare, smoothie bars and beverage programs run nugget ice for the mouthfeel. Same auger mechanics as flakers, plus their own water-seal wear pattern.

Remote-condenser systems

Rooftop or exterior condensers piped back to an indoor head — takes the worst of the salt air. Fan motors, contactors and line sets fail years earlier than an indoor install.

Bins, dispensers & filtration

Storage bins, hotel and healthcare ice/water dispensers, and filtration sized to South Florida's mineral load — undersized filtration is why machines rescale months after service.

Ice machine symptoms, likely causes & typical repair costs

Real numbers from our South Florida service tickets — parts plus labor, before any contract pricing. The $89 commercial service call covers the diagnosis and is free when you approve the repair — the fee applies only if you decline.
